Iris Van Herpen Pop-Up Store
The brief:

To develop my own surface designs for use within a 'Pop-Up retail space also designed by myself. This will be located in a shopping centre such as Selfridge's. I chose to present Iris van Herpens Spring 2018 couture collection within the store. Iris is a high-end dutch fashion designer so when designing the pop-up interior I had to ensure the standards were to a high quality representing the brand.

The concept I chose was 'Sea Floor Details', I was interested in the structural and textural qualities of elements from the seafloor. I wanted to develop these features into my surface designs and architectural elements of the pop-up store. The concept also worked really well with Iris Van Herpens Spring 2018 couture collection that I was presenting in the pop-up store.

I created three surface designs, the first one being a card structure that would represent the structural store facade leading customers into the entrance of the store, this surface design was inspired by shell shape and structure, particularly the Nautilus shell. The second design is a clay sample I created that would be applied to the front of Display units, this design was inspired by the formation of the sea floor and the organic fluid movements within the ocean. The final sample I created by laser cutting wood, this idea would be used as wall panels on sections of the interior of the dome structure, this was inspired by the natural fluidity of the seafloor.
