Dulux Rooftop Bar Project

The brief:

To work to the commercial brief set by Dulux in their 2019 competition, to “WOW” with your use of Dulux Colour of the Year. The Dulux Colour of the year 2021 is ‘Brave Ground’. The space includes an indoor and terrace area highlighting the extensive range of interior and exterior Dulux paint finishes available, with the condition that at least 50% of your surfaces must use the Dulux Colour of the Year 2021.

The design must be for an eatery; this could be a cafe, bar, hotel restaurant, etc. My scheme should be a ‘turnkey’ design and include all furniture, lighting, flooring, window treatments, art and accessories where applicable. I  will be required to research a concept, design and develop ideas within a given time working to a budget. This brief will challenge my  “eye for design, head for business, and creative flair.” It will help prepare me  for working in industry with consideration to planning, client brief and time management. Though this is not a live competition it will act as mock for my  third year and help me familiarise myself with the requirements.
